Horror in East London as 80-year-old woman stabbed to death in her home.
Woman Found Fatally Stabbed in Landseer Avenue
Police were rushed to Landseer Avenue, E12, at 9.56am on Saturday, 2 April, after reports of a woman with stab injuries. Emergency crews, including London’s Air Ambulance, fought to save her but 80-year-old Shotera Bibi was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family Devastated as Murder Investigation Kicks Off
Ms Bibi lived at the address where the tragedy unfolded. A post-mortem on Sunday confirmed the cause of death as stab wounds to the chest. Detectives launched an urgent probe, scouring the local area for leads.
Local Man Charged with Murder
Police detained a man nearby and later charged 33-year-old Ali Subell, from the same Landseer Avenue address, with murder. Subell is set to appear at Stratford Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 4 April.
The Met’s Specialist Crime homicide team are leading the investigation, seeking justice for Ms Bibi and support for her grieving family.
