Knife Carried During Bulwell Street Row Sparks Police Arrests

Chaos erupted in Bulwell on Sunday night after a sharp dispute saw a knife flash in the street.

Officers rushed to Bardney Drive at around 10.05pm following reports of a row where one participant was allegedly armed. Minutes later, police stopped a car in Ridgeway Walk, Top Valley, and uncovered a knife during their search.

Three Arrested After Violent Scuffle with Police

  • A 42-year-old man faces charges for possession of a bladed article.
  • A 20-year-old man was arrested for assaulting an emergency worker during a heated scuffle.
  • A 42-year-old woman was also detained for obstructing a police officer.

Detective Sergeant Al Roper of Nottinghamshire Police slammed the violence: “Vehicle stops like this one play a hugely important role in helping us take knives off the streets and out of harm’s way.”

He added: “There should never be an excuse for carrying weapons in public. It puts everyone at risk, including the carrier.”

DS Roper also condemned attacks on emergency workers: “Police officers don’t deserve to be assaulted while trying to do their jobs. This behaviour is totally unacceptable.”

Police Appeal for Information

Three arrests have been made, but inquiries continue. Anyone with info is urged to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident 676 of 4 November 2022.
