Nottingham Police Raise Nearly £7k for PDSA Pet Hospital

Over the past year, Nottinghamshire Police officers and staff have raised a whopping £6,867 for the Nottingham PDSA Pet Hospital – last year’s Chief’s Charity.

Helping Pets and Owners in Need

The PDSA charity was chosen by staff vote. It offers vital care to animals in distress, including free or low-cost treatment for pets whose owners face financial hardship. Services include neutering, microchipping, vaccinations, and repeat prescriptions to keep pets healthy.

Fundraising Fun for a Great Cause

The impressive total came from a variety of fun events, from cake sales and dress-down days to bike rides and raffles, showing true community spirit within the force.

Chief Constable Praises Team Effort

“I want to thank everyone who got involved in our fundraising,” said Chief Constable Kate Meynell. “Many of us have pets ourselves, so we understand how tough it is when owners can’t afford treatments. With rising demand for these services, we’re proud to support such important work.”

Rebekah Blasdale, Head Nurse at Nottingham PDSA Pet Hospital, added: “We’re incredibly grateful to Chief Constable Meynell and Nottinghamshire Police for making us their Charity of the Year. Their generosity will help us continue saving countless pets whose owners have nowhere else to turn.”
