Night Out Turns Nasty as Man Attacked After Bus Row
A man in his 30s was viciously attacked after asking a younger passenger if a dropped phone was theirs. The victim was heading home on a bus following a night out with friends when the drama unfolded.
Bus Bash on Bridgford Road
The trouble began when the victim heard a phone hit the floor and politely asked, “Is that your phone?” The question sparked an aggressive reaction from the younger passenger, who then followed the man off the bus and launched a brutal assault.
The attack happened at around 11.20pm on Bridgford Road. The victim needed hospital treatment but, thankfully, his injuries are not life-threatening. However, the physical wounds aren’t the only damage – he’s left visibly shaken and traumatised.
Police Make Arrest as Hunt Continues
Police wasted no time. A 50-year-old woman was arrested the following morning on suspicion of assisting the attacker. Detective Sergeant Charlotte Henson of Nottinghamshire Police said:
“This was a serious and unprovoked assault on an innocent man simply making his way home after a night out. Fortunately, his injuries are not life-threatening but he has been traumatised. We are doing everything we can to find the person responsible.”
DS Henson urged witnesses to come forward:
“This incident happened on a busy road. We want anyone who saw the assault or has dash cam footage to get in touch. We also want to speak to anyone on the bus who witnessed the row that sparked the attack.”
