Bayern Munich, The German Football Club, Has Suspended Forward Sadio Mane For One Game Due To His Altercation With Leroy Sane After The Recent Champions League Loss To Manchester City

In a shocking incident before the highly anticipated LFC v EFC match at Anfield yesterday a police officer was hit in the face with a bottle. The officer, who was stationed outside the stadium, sustained a laceration to his face and was promptly treated in the first aid room.

Additionally, it has come to light that a female supporter was also injured by a bottle during the same time period. This reprehensible behavior has prompted a thorough investigation, with CCTV footage being reviewed and witness testimonies being gathered. The authorities are collaborating with both clubs to identify the individuals responsible for these acts.

Expressing his dismay, Silver Commander Chief Inspector Iain Wyke stated, “This type of behavior is totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated. The police officer was at the ground to ensure that all match-goers were able to enjoy the game safely, so to be assaulted in such a manner when he was simply doing his job is shocking.”

Wyke further emphasised that while police officers understand the inherent risks of their profession, they should never have to endure violence when carrying out their duties. The authorities are committed to identifying and bringing to justice the person or persons responsible for these incidents and are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.

The Merseyside Police have requested that anyone with information about the incidents contact them via direct message on Twitter at @MerPolCC or reach out to CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111, quoting log 206 of 21st October.

Unfortunately, these acts of violence were not the only incidents that marred the match. In total, eight arrests were made, encompassing offences such as ticket touting, breach of the peace, possession of a controlled drug (Class A), and public order offences, including hate and tragedy chanting.
