Harry Jones' Prison Sentence Extended: Shocking Details Revealed

Cradley Heath resident Harry Jones, from Wolverhampton, has had his 10-year prison sentence extended by an additional four years after his case was referred to the Court of Appeal for being deemed unduly lenient. The decision was made by the Solicitor General, Michael Tomlinson KC MP.

During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Jones had a falling out with his colleague, Daniel Tulley, leading to the two arranging a physical altercation through social media. On November 4, 2019, Jones drove to Tulley’s residence in Bloxwich, where he proceeded to threaten Tulley’s partner. Afterwards, he tracked Tulley down on Clayhanger Road in Brownhills.

The altercation reached its climax when Jones struck Tulley with his car, causing him to be thrown off the vehicle’s bonnet upon coming to a stop. Shockingly, Jones fled the scene without checking on Tulley’s well-being. Tulley sustained serious injuries that required emergency brain surgery and spent over a month in the hospital. Regrettably, he now faces long-term consequences due to the incident.

Expressing his concerns, the Solicitor General, Michael Tomlinson KC MP, stated that Harry Jones, despite being a respected local businessman, displayed reprehensible behavior on that particular day. He emphasised the severity of Tulley’s injuries and the long-term impact they will have on his life.

The court, recognising the gravity of Jones’ actions, has decided to increase his prison term as a stern warning that leaving someone for dead carries significant consequences.

On July 21, 2023, Harry Jones was initially sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Wolverhampton Crown Court for one count of grievous bodily harm with intent. However, on Tuesday, November 14, his sentence was extended to 14 years by the Court of Appeal after being referred through the Unduly Lenient Sentence scheme.
