Police have confirmed the grim discovery of a man’s body in the River Wensum Tuesday, April 9, 2024. The body was found by firefighters at approximately 10:20 a.m. along a stretch of the river near the rear of Go Outdoors, off Marriott’s Way.
The search effort was initiated following reports of a high-risk missing man in his 30s who was last seen in the Norwich area on the evening of April 8, 2024. Emergency services, including police, Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service, and the National Police Air Service, were all involved in the extensive search operation, utilizing drones and a fire water rescue boat to comb through the area.
A cordon has been established around the scene as police begin their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident. While inquiries are still ongoing, authorities have stated that the death is not believed to be suspicious at this time.
