Man’s Body Found in River Wensum Sparks Grim End to Search

Police confirmed a tragic discovery on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, when firefighters found a man’s body in the River Wensum near Go Outdoors, off Marriott’s Way. The grim find came at around 10:20 a.m., ending a desperate search.

The full-scale search kicked off after reports emerged of a high-risk man in his 30s missing in the Norwich area since the evening of April 8. Emergency services, including Norfolk Police, Fire and Rescue, and the National Police Air Service, threw everything at the operation – using drones and a fire water rescue boat to scour the river and surrounding areas.
