Merseyside Police Seek Key Witness in Southport Sexual Assault
Detectives in Merseyside have released photos of a man who could hold vital clues about a shocking sexual assault last month near Tesco on Chapel Street, Southport.
Attack Near Southport Station on June 8
The assault took place around 2:25pm on Saturday, June 8. A 17-year-old girl and her friend were leaving Southport train station when the attack happened. The victim is currently receiving police support as the investigation heats up.
Police Urge Public to Identify Man in Images
Detective Constable Dave Rutherford has called on anyone who recognises the man pictured to come forward immediately. He said, “He may be able to provide valuable information to assist our ongoing inquiries.”
The incident coincided with the Save the Rave festival in Southport, with the victim and her friend travelling by train from Seaforth to Southport that afternoon.
