Initial investigations indicate that a group of teenagers exiting the Arndale Centre was followed by another group of males and females. Two members of the first group were attacked and robbed by the suspects, who stole mobile phones, trainers, and a black Canada Goose coat. The victims were left shaken, with one sustaining a minor injury.

Authorities have released CCTV images of nine male individuals whom they wish to question. These individuals are believed to have information crucial to the ongoing investigation.

Sergeant Adam Culpan of GMP’s Manchester city centre neighbourhood crime team issued a statement: “After conducting and following a number of lines of inquiry, we are now in a position to appeal to the public for any additional information they may have.” Culpan emphasised the timing and location of the incident, noting that the robbery took place in a busy city centre area. “We know there will be people out there who saw what happened, and we are appealing for them to come forward and speak to us,” he added.

In response to the incident, police have increased patrols in the area to reassure the public while the investigation continues. Support is also being provided to the victims of the robbery.

Anyone with information relevant to the case is urged to contact GMP directly on 0161 856 4145 or call 101, quoting log number 2953 of 22/09/2024. For those who wish to remain anonymous, information can be provided through the independent charity Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
