Police in Oldham are investigating two linked incidents that occurred on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, resulting in damage to a police vehicle and injury to a young child.
At approximately 18:19 BST, a male suspect threw a brick at a police car on Ripponden Road, causing damage to the vehicle. The offender then fled the scene on an electric Surron bike.
Just eight minutes later, at around 18:27 BST, the same individual was involved in a collision with a three-year-old child on Taurus Street. Witnesses report that the impact threw the child into the air, causing them to collide with a parked vehicle. The suspect failed to stop and fled the scene, leaving the injured child behind.
