A man in his 20s tragically died following a collision involving a car and a pedestrian at Junction 29 of the M25 near Romford.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:00 PM on Thursday, December 12. Emergency services, including officers from the Metropolitan Police and Essex Police, attended the scene alongside paramedics. Despite their efforts, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man’s family has been informed, and formal identification will take place in due course. Detectives from the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Traffic Disruptions Managed
During the incident, National Highways Traffic Officers and area crews worked to manage traffic. Vehicles trapped within the closure were turned around and released from the back of the queue. The road closures have since been lifted, and traffic has returned to normal.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said:
*”Shortly before 12:00hrs on Thursday, 12 December, officers were called to assist Essex Police at Junction 29 of the M25, following reports of a collision involving a car and pedestrian. Despite their best efforts, the man, aged in his 20s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
“Detectives from the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating the collision.”*
