Kent Police are investigating a serious incident involving an XL Bully dog that left an eight-month-old girl critically injured. The attack occurred inside a property on Siskin Close in Hawkinge on Wednesday, 11 December.
The infant was rushed to a London hospital, where she remains in a serious condition. Authorities confirmed that the dog involved in the attack was seized by police and later humanely euthanised by a qualified veterinarian. Contrary to speculation, the animal was not shot.
Following the incident, two suspects were arrested in connection with the attack. They have since been released on bail while investigations are ongoing.
A Kent Police spokesperson said, “Enquiries are being conducted to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. Our thoughts remain with the family of the young girl during this difficult time.”
The tragic event has reignited concerns about the ownership and management of XL Bully dogs, a breed that has been at the center of ongoing debates around public safety and animal control laws.
Residents of Siskin Close expressed shock and sadness over the incident, describing
