Shock in Handsworth: A 43-year-old man has been arrested after an 82-year-old was viciously attacked at a bus stop. The elderly victim remains in critical condition.
Brutal Assault at Soho Road Bus Stop
The horrific attack took place around 3:30pm on Tuesday, 14 January 2025. The victim was waiting for the No. 74 bus at the Soho Road stop near Boulton Road when he was set upon.
Thanks to tip-offs from the Soho Road Business Improvement District (BID), police swooped and arrested the suspect two days later on 16 January. He is now in custody being questioned.
Victim’s Condition Remains Grim
The 82-year-old suffered serious injuries during the assault and is currently fighting for his life in hospital. Medical staff are monitoring him closely.
Police Launch Urgent Appeal for Witnesses
Authorities want anyone who saw the attack or has dashcam or mobile footage to come forward immediately.
