Will Royal Mail Deliver Over Easter Bank Holiday?

As the Easter bank holiday looms, Brits are asking: will Royal Mail deliver letters and parcels during the long weekend? Like supermarkets and other essential services, Royal Mail switches up its schedule on public holidays.

Easter Delivery Breakdown: What You Need to Know

In England and Wales, the key dates are:

  • Good Friday – April 18
  • Easter Monday – April 21

Royal Mail confirms: no deliveries or collections on Good Friday or Easter Monday. These are official public holidays, so postal services take a break nationwide.

Good news for Saturday shoppers and Sunday scrollers. Saturday, April 19 will run as normal, with regular letter and parcel deliveries. Plus, Sunday, April 20 isn’t a bank holiday, so some Sunday parcel deliveries will keep rolling.

In Scotland, it’s a different story. Good Friday isn’t a bank holiday everywhere, so many Scots can expect normal delivery on April 18. But Easter Monday (April 21) is a public holiday across Scotland – meaning no post collection or delivery on that day.

All services jump back into action on Tuesday, April 22 across England, Wales, and Scotland.
