Man Arrested Outside Hammersmith with 12 Stolen Phones in Ongoing Robbery Investigation

A man has been arrested outside Hammersmith Station by British Transport Police (BTP) on suspicion of robbery, following a series of incidents in the area earlier in the day.

Chief Superintendent Chris Casey confirmed the arrest via social media, stating that officers recovered 12 mobile phones from the suspect, which are believed to be linked to multiple thefts or robberies that occurred earlier.

Footage released alongside the statement shows a coordinated police response involving several officers detaining the suspect on the ground near the station. A police vehicle with flashing lights can also be seen at the scene.

The arrest took place in a public area in broad daylight, drawing attention from passersby. Officers quickly moved in and restrained the suspect, who was then searched. The discovery of multiple phones has provided investigators with key evidence as they work to identify the victims and the timeline of events.

BTP have not yet released further details about the suspect or the exact nature of the incidents, but investigations are ongoing.

Members of the public are urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity. BTP offered guidance for contacting police discreetly, encouraging people to text 61016 for non-emergency reports or to call 999 in an emergency.
