A major win in the fight against County Lines crime as Mitchell Bates, 30, from Holme Close, Hatfield, has been locked up for three years and one month. Police caught him red-handed in November after raiding his spot and finding Class A drugs and phones used for dealing.

After a search last September, cops struck again to nab Bates with more Class A drugs. At St Albans Crown Court on 29 January, Bates pleaded guilty to:

Cops Call on Public to Help Smash Drug Gangs
“These drug lines are run by organised crime groups who use violence and commit a whole range of crimes that pose a real threat to the community.” – Detective Sergeant Chris Cowell, Serious and Organised Crime Command
DS Cowell urged the public to come forward with tips. “Any info, however small, can help us crack down on dealers and keep our communities safe.”
