Cannock Drug Dealer Bagged in Stop-and-Search Jailed for Over Five Years
Drugs and Cash Found in Daytime Traffic Stop
Mohammed Omar Raysat, 36, from Great Wyrley, was caught red-handed last November during a routine stop on Cannock Road, Chadsmoor. Officers pulled over his black Seat Leon and uncovered a stash of heroin, crack cocaine, cash, and a burner phone.
Property Raids Uncover More Illegal Goods
Police didn’t stop there. Raids on properties linked to Raysat in Great Wyrley and Walsall revealed extra drugs and drug-dealing gear, painting a clear picture of an organised supply operation.
Heavy Sentence Handed Down at Stafford Crown Court
On Tuesday 27 January, Raysat admitted to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, driving while disqualified, and driving without insurance. He was slammed with five years and seven months behind bars, plus an extended driving ban, licence endorsements, and a £228 surcharge.
Police Pledge to Smash Drug Rings in Staffordshire
“Raysat was cruising around in broad daylight carrying drugs and drug-related items. Officers also found a tick list and SIM card tied to drug supply in his property,” said Chief Superintendent Victoria Downing. “I’m pleased he’s been hit with a hefty jail term. This sends a clear message that we will continue to disrupt illegal drugs in Staffordshire and bring offenders to justice.”
This bust is part of a wider crackdown aimed at stamping out organised drug crime in the region. Raysat’s haul and paraphernalia have been seized as police ramp up their fight against drug dealers.
