Nottingham Man Busted After Attempting Cocaine Toss During Police Scramble
Erratic Driving Sparks High-Stakes Police Chase
Police knife crime unit spotted a dodgy Hyundai Kona weaving down Woodborough Road at 7.50pm on 4 December last year. The driver, Daniel Comrie, 41, from Woodthorpe, was driving so erratically he instantly raised alarm bells.
Desperate Cocaine Toss Caught on Camera
When officers tried to pull Comrie over, he resisted arrest and tried to force his way past them. In the chaos, he hurled a bundle of Class A drugs beneath his car. But the bungled stunt was caught on camera, and cops quickly grabbed the cocaine.
£10,000 Cash and Clever Cocaine Hideout Found
A raid on Comrie’s Villiers Road flat uncovered around £10,000 in cash. A sniffer dog then sniffed out a crafty cocaine stash hidden inside the rubber seal of a washing machine door.
Comrie pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin and cocaine, plus possession of criminal property.
He was jailed for 3½ years at Nottingham Crown Court on 11 March. The police vow the war on drug crime in Nottingham is far from over.
