West Sussex Drug Dealers Jailed After Major Police Bust

Two drug dealers have been locked up following a huge police crackdown on Class A drug supply in West Sussex. Behrad Mohammadi, 31, and Kyle O’Brien, 22, were caught red-handed as part of Operation Tripod, a major investigation targeting large-scale drug trafficking.

Massive Haul Found in Raids

In October last year, police swooped on the duo’s homes. At O’Brien’s address alone, officers seized over a kilogram of cocaine, a kilogram of cannabis, and thousands of nitrous oxide canisters. Phones seized from both men revealed they were offering bulk drugs, confirming their key roles in the ring.

Mohammadi, linked to three local businesses including a vape shop and a luxury supercar company in Chichester, had surprising sums of unexplained cash flowing through his accounts. His phone showed he was deeply involved in distributing cocaine and cannabis.

He admitted conspiracy to supply Class A and B drugs plus possession of cannabis, and was jailed for nine years and nine months.

Accomplice Caught with Drugs Worth Thousands

O’Brien, from Chichester’s Batchmere Road, also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply drugs, possession with intent, and ketamine possession. Police found drugs and nitrous oxide valued at tens of thousands in street money at his home. He was sentenced to four years in prison.

Two others linked to the operation face sentencing later this year.

Detective Superintendent Colin Garman said: “This was a significant group supplying cocaine and cannabis which cause so much harm in our communities in West Sussex. Our officers work all year round to disrupt the supply of drugs and to relentlessly target offenders who prey on vulnerable children and adults. These convictions as part of Operation Tripod demonstrate our determination to catch organised groups and bring them to justice.”
