A huge unauthorised rave near East Lulworth was smashed by Dorset Police after a major late-night response. Around 2,000 revellers and over 100 vehicles caused chaos before officers moved in.
Police Face Violence as They Break Up Massive Party
Police were alerted just before midnight on Saturday, April 4, 2026. They stayed on-site throughout Sunday, working hard to safely end the event. But it wasn’t an easy job – officers came under attack from missiles and faced violent resistance.
“While responding to the incident, our officers came under attack from missiles and faced a violent and hostile reception,” said Assistant Chief Constable Steve Lyne. “Violence in our communities and against our officers will not be tolerated.”
Crackdown: Sound Equipment Seized, Ten Arrested
Dorset cops acted fast and seized sound gear under Section 64 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994. They arrested ten people on charges including driving under the influence and assaulting emergency workers.
“These types of events are illegal and cause significant disruption to communities,” added ACC Lyne. “We must respond to ensure the safety of everyone and it is unacceptable that we are faced with violence while doing so.”
Ongoing Investigation Into Rave Mayhem
The police are still reviewing evidence to uncover further offences linked to the rave. Residents hope this sends a clear message that illegal parties and violence against cops won’t be tolerated.
