Motorway Junction Closed following a serious traffic collision in Southampton

Police have closed the  M27 westbound exit slip at junction Seven Hedge End East near Southampton this morning. The junction of the A334 / B3036 (Hedge End) has been closed following a serious collision. The vehicle involved has crashed and overturned. All lanes of the exit slip road on the west bound carriageway have been closed whilst emergency service deal with the incident. Police have advised that the junction is likely to stay closed to until at least 12:15pm whilst a clear up and recovery operation takes place. The injuries of those involved are not know and number of emergency vehicles are at the scene including,Police Fire and the Ambulance Service. Drivers wishing to access routes to Hamble and surrounding areas are advised to leave follow the diversion in place. More to Follow UPDATE AT 13:00 Junction 7 likely to remain closed till 4pm whilst contractors working on behalf of the Highways Agency to renew and replace crash barrier following the earlier collision and remove debris from the road. A further collision prior to the junction closure has caused further delays on the westbound carriageway after a BMW one series aqua-planed and hit the central reservation. Emergency Services are at the scene dealing with the new incident that is not thought to be serious. Police and Highways Agency have moved the vehicle to the hard shoulder.
