The Dartford Road crossing had to be closed on Thursday evening after a vehicle caught alight.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called just after 8pm to assisted Essex Fire and Rescue Service at the scene of a vehicle fire on the bridge of the Dartford crossing.
Three fire engines from Kent attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet. There were no reported injuries.
