Shoppers at Westfield Stratford in East London were left scrambling as a fierce fire broke out on the evening of September 13, 2025. Thick black smoke engulfed the area, forcing a swift evacuation of the shopping centre and its car park.

Blaze Erupts in Car Park C

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) sprang into action at 4:05 PM, dispatching around 70 firefighters with 10 fire engines to tackle the blaze. The fire quickly spread across 15 vehicles parked on the upper level of Car Park C.

After a tense battle, firefighters brought the blaze under control by 5:54 PM, preventing further damage and casualties.

Westfield Stratford reopened today from 12 PM to 6 PM, but Car Park C remains closed while safety inspections are carried out. A spokesperson posted on Instagram, saying:
