Investigation launched after fatal collision in Newham

Police are appealing for witnesses and any dashcam footage following a fatal collision in Newham.

Emergency sevrices were called at 5.42pm in Saturday, 18 April, to a road traffic collision in Plashet Road near the junction with Lucas Avenue E13.

Officers attended the location along with London Ambulance Service, where they found a male motorcyclist who had collided with a lamp-post. The 37-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have informed his next of kin. Formal identification awaits.

Enquiries into the circumstances continue. There has been no arrest.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who might have dashcam footage, is asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 020 8597 4874, quoting 5002/18Apr.
