A major incident has been declared in Jersey following a devastating house explosion in the capital city of St Helier.

Emergency services were called to a property on Mont Pinel late last night, where they discovered the aftermath of a powerful blast.

The family who lived in the affected property was taken to the hospital for medical evaluation. Their condition remains unknown at this time.

Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene, with approximately five ambulances, one incident support unit, four fire engines, and several police cars present.

Local authorities are urging residents to stay away from the area while investigations Kent Police’s drive to prevent offenders profiting from their crimes continues with further confiscations. In separate hearings at Maidstone Crown Court, two men convicted of large scale drug supply offences have been ordered to give up their ill-gotten gains" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-wpil-monitor-id="29471">continue. The cause of the explosion is yet to be determined
