Detectives from the Metropolitan Police investigating the murder of 16-year-old Lathaniel Burrell in Stockwell have arrested a suspect.
Arrest Details
A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder in Croydon on the morning of Friday, 7 March 2025. He remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
Incident Overview
Lathaniel, who was from Stockwell, was shot and killed in Paradise Road, SW4, on Tuesday, 4 March 2025. Officers were called at 3:21 PM to reports of a shooting. Despite efforts from London’s Air Ambulance and the London Ambulance Service, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee, leading the investigation, said:
“Our detectives are working hard to piece together the events of Tuesday afternoon and identify those responsible for killing Lathaniel.”
“We continue to appeal for anyone with information about Lathaniel’s murder to please come forward and speak to us.”
