Tragic Blaze on Hospital Street
A man in his 40s has died after dousing himself in petrol and setting himself alight in broad daylight on Hospital Street, Newtown, Birmingham.
Heroic Efforts Couldn’t Save Him
Witnesses spotted the victim fully engulfed in flames last week. Emergency services rushed to the scene shortly after 3.40pm on 8 October.
Police Confirm No Foul Play
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said:
“We were called to Hospital Street in Newtown, shortly after 3.40pm on 8 October after receiving reports a man had suffered burn injuries. The man, in his 40s, received treatment at the scene but sadly died in hospital a short time later. His death is not being treated as suspicious.”
