Man Rescued from Mud in Totton

A man has been rescued after becoming stuck in mud up to his thighs in the early hours of this morning near Southampton. Fire crews from Fareham, Totton, Redbridge, and Cosham were called to help after a home owner heard the man calling for help and raised the alarm just before 2am . Fire crews freed the man using a mud lance that injected waterand air into the area to assist in the release of the trapped man. An inflatable path was also used support the rescue workers. The man was extricated from mud in Stirling Close,Totton just a 3am this morning. He was treated at the scene for the effects of cold after the two hour ordeal by Paramedics who also attended the scene.
