A fire broke out at a paper mill in Kemsley, Sittingbourne, in the early hours of Friday, 7 March 2025.

Emergency Response

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to the scene at approximately 5:31 AM. At the height of the blaze, six fire engines were deployed, with crews wearing breathing apparatus and using main jets to tackle the flames.

Cause and Injuries

The fire was brought under control by 9:00 AM, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Support and Assistance

The response effort was supported by Rapid Response Team volunteers, who assisted firefighters at the scene. Fire crews remained on-site for some time to ensure the area was safe.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service continues to urge the public to report any information that may assist with the investigation.
