Police Appeal for Witnesses to Fatal Collision in Kilburn in 2023

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward regarding a fatal collision that occurred in Kilburn in 2023. The incident took place at 15:23 hrs on Saturday, 25 November, at the junction of Kilburn High Road and Cambridge Avenue, where a lorry collided with a pedestrian.

Emergency services, including paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, attended the scene, but sadly, the pedestrian, 71-year-old Thomas Murphy, an Irish national residing in Maida Vale, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed of the tragedy.

The lorry driver stopped shortly after the incident and has been spoken to by police. No arrests have been made. An inquest into Mr. Murphy’s death has been opened and adjourned at Barnet Coroner’s Court.

Detective Sergeant Becca Collens, from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our investigation is ongoing, including reviewing CCTV footage, but we are still looking to contact two key witnesses who spoke to officers at the scene but have not yet been reached. I urge these men, and anyone else who witnessed the incident or has relevant CCTV or other evidence, to contact us.
