Serious Collision involving a Tractor and Motorbike Closes Road Near Hook

Police have closed Ridge Lane both directions in the Newhams(Hook). The closure is near to Tylney Hall Hotel due to a serious collision involving a John Deere Tractor and a motorbike. Officers from the Hampshire/Thames Valley Police joint operations Roads Policing are leading on the investigation that happened on Wednesday Morning. Police are working with collision scene investigator to gather evidence and carry out accident investigation work. Police have advised that the road is this road likely to be closed until early evening. Drivers who use the popular route as a cut through as being advised to seek alternative routes. Officers were called to Ridge Lane, Newnham, at 11.40am yesterday (26 April) to reports of a collision involving an agricultural tractor and a motorcycle. The 62-year-old male motorcyclist, from Upton Grey, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. Formal identification procedures are ongoing. The 25-year-old male driver of the tractor was uninjured. Officers investigating the exact circumstances of the collision are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. They would also like to speak to anyone who saw either vehicle prior to the collision.
