Police are hunting for witnesses after a dreadful crash claimed three lives on a busy Halifax road.

Fatal Collision on Keighley Road

Officers rushed to Keighley Road at 6.50pm on 18 March following reports of a collision involving three vehicles at the junction with Cobblestones Drive in Illingworth.

Tragically, two men aged 22 and 21 inside a Ford Fiesta were pronounced dead at the scene. Another 21-year-old passenger suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to the hospital.

Three Arrested Over Suspected Dangerous Driving

The BMW involved had three occupants from Halifax: a 37-year-old man and two women aged 18 and 32. All three were arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remain in custody this morning.

The third car, a stationary Renault Clio, was unoccupied at the time of the crash.

Ongoing Investigation and Police Appeal

The road remains closed this morning as police carry out thorough enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Paul Lightowler said: “Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of those who died. Specially trained officers are supporting the families involved.”

“This is a tragic incident, and extensive enquiries are ongoing at the scene. We urge anyone who was in the area yesterday evening and witnessed the collision to come forward.”

“We are also keen to see any dash-cam footage showing the vehicles before the crash.”
