Three people were rushed to paramedics following a bedroom fire on Headcorn Road, Ashford. The blaze is believed to have been sparked by an overheated charger.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded quickly after reports of a fire in the bedroom. Two fire engines arrived on scene and crews wearing breathing apparatus doused the flames using hose reel jets.

Paramedics Say Injuries Not Serious

South East Coast Ambulance Service treated three victims at the scene. Thankfully, none suffered serious injuries.

Fire Cause: Overheated Charger

Investigators have ruled the fire accidental, linking it to an overheated charger. Kent Fire and Rescue Service has since issued urgent safety advice:

  • Never leave charging devices unattended or overnight
  • Charge in a well-ventilated area and keep devices uncovered to prevent overheating
  • Unplug devices as soon as they’re fully charged
