Woman dies after collision at golf course

A woman who was critically injured after being hit by a van at a golf course in Shenstone has sadly died, Staffordshire Police confirmed today.

The incident occurred at around 10:25am on Friday, April 11, near Blake Street and Birmingham Road, between Sutton Coldfield and Shenstone. Emergency services rushed to the scene and the woman was transported to hospital in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, she tragically passed away on Tuesday evening (April 15).

In a statement released by Staffordshire Police, a spokesperson said:

“Our thoughts remain with her family at this difficult time. They continue to be supported by specialist officers.”

Police are continuing their appeal for witnesses and video footage that could help piece together the circumstances leading up to the collision. Anyone who was in the area at the time, or who may have dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage, is urged to come forward.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) is investigating the involvement of West Midlands Police officers prior to the incident. The exact nature of that involvement has not yet been disclosed.
