Police launch urgent probe after a woman in her 20s was raped in a Worthing car park on Wednesday evening, March 11.

Incident at Lyndhurst Road Car Park

The assault happened shortly after 8pm at Lyndhurst Road Car Park. Sussex Police confirmed they are actively investigating the case.

Fast-Moving Investigation Underway

The victim is receiving specialist support. Detective Superintendent Jay Mendis-Gunasekera said:

“We are at the early stages of this investigation and the victim will continue to receive our full support as this progresses. Detectives are exploring a number of lines of enquiry to identify and locate a suspect.”

Police will beef up their presence overnight and expect to close the car park during the day to gather and preserve evidence.
