Young Child Seriously Injured In Waltham Forest Collision: Police Seek Witnesses

The Metropolitan Police are appealing to the public for information following a distressing incident that unfolded on Friday, September 8, in Waltham Forest, leaving a young child with severe injuries.

The incident occurred at approximately 3.39pm when the Metropolitan Police were alerted to a collision on Shrubland Road, E10. The collision involved a pick-up truck and a three-year-old child who was on foot at the time.

Emergency services swiftly arrived at the scene, and the injured child was immediately transported to a nearby hospital. As of the latest update, the child remains in a serious but stable condition, receiving medical care for the injuries sustained in the accident.

The driver of the involved vehicle responsibly stopped at the scene and cooperated fully with the responding authorities. No arrest has been made at this stage, as the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is still ongoing.

The Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit has taken the lead in this investigation. They are appealing to any potential witnesses to come forward and provide information that may aid in establishing the events leading up to the collision. Additionally, authorities are seeking any available dash-cam footage that could shed light on the incident.
