A man has died from injuries following a collision in Ilford after a Police chase – UKNIP

At approximately 3.30pm on Monday, 26 June a car that had failed to stop for police was in collision with a moped in Cranbrook Road at the junction of Martley Drive, Ilford.

London Ambulance Service attended and the rider of the moped – a man aged in his 20s – was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital. He remained in hospital but sadly died on Monday, 3 July.

His next of kin have been informed.

There were no reports of any other injuries as a result of the collision.

Officers investigating the collision are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident or the events leading up to, including any road users who may have captured the collision on dashcam.

As is routine in these circumstances, the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed. A referral was made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) and it has launched an independent investigation.
