HOTEL MIGRANT Afghan Man Faces Sexual Assault and Immigration Charges in Southampton

Sohail Amiri, 30, of Highfield Lane, Southampton, has been hit with multiple sexual assault charges. The incidents allegedly took place on September 23 and November 25, involving unwanted advances towards women on Westwood Road and Upper Shaftesbury Avenue.

Alleged Assaults Spark Police Action

• On September 23, Amiri is accused of making inappropriate comments and advances toward two women on Westwood Road.
• Early hours of November 25, a woman walking on Upper Shaftesbury Avenue says Amiri tried to kiss her without consent. She pushed him away and escaped.

Immigration Offence Added to Charges

Amiri, who claims to be from Afghanistan, faces an additional charge under Section 24 of the Immigration Act 1971 for entering the UK without permission.
