The incident reportedly took place on Sunday, April 7, between 2pm and 3pm, on Pier Street. According to reports received by the authorities, a 19-year-old man was in the process of entering the back seat of a Hyundai i10 when two individuals wearing black ski masks approached him. One of the individuals was reported to be armed with a knife.

The assailants allegedly attempted to forcibly remove the man from the vehicle, with the intention, it is believed, of stealing his expensive coat. Fortunately, the driver of the car acted swiftly and drove away before any harm could be inflicted. Thankfully, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The police are keen to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage or video evidence that could aid in their investigation. Additionally, individuals who recognize the descriptions of the suspects provided below are urged to come forward.

Description of Suspect 1:

  • White
  • Approximately 5ft 10 inches tall
  • Skinny build
  • Wearing a black ski mask, a shiny black puffer coat, and black tracksuit bottoms

Description of Suspect 2:

  • Black
  • Approximately 5ft 10 inches tall
  • Wearing a black ski mask, a shiny black puffer coat, and black tracksuit bottoms

The suspects were also accompanied by a third individual, described as a white male, shorter in stature than the others and possibly a child. This individual was not wearing a mask and did not participate in the attempted robbery.
