Grimy Assault on Central Line
An asylum seeker who sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl on the London Underground has been locked up and warned he could be kicked out of the UK. Muslih Alotaibi, 39, groped the teenager on the Central Line between Oxford Circus and Mile End on September 2 last year, a court heard.
Alotaibi tried to put his hand under the girl’s leg, but she immediately complained to another passenger. Police later detained him at the scene.
Jail Time and Tough Restrictions
Alotaibi, who arrived in the UK in 2023 fleeing from Saudi Arabia, was sentenced at Inner London Crown Court. Wearing grey prison clothes and assisted by an Arabic interpreter, he was handed 19 weeks in jail, excluding time already spent behind bars.
The judge slapped him with a five-year sexual harm prevention order and ordered he can only use a travel card in his own name when travelling on public transport, to make it easier to track any future offences.
Deportation Warning Issued
Addressing Alotaibi, the judge said: “I see that you are illegally in the UK. The Home Office should be aware of this conviction and take steps to carry out their duties to remove you.”
Alotaibi’s ex-wife and children still live in Saudi Arabia, where he faces possible deportation after serving his sentence.
