An 11-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of arson following an incident in which a police vehicle was reportedly set alight on Dent Street in Hartlepool on the evening of Wednesday, 31st July. The incident occurred amid disorder in the town, prompting a swift response from local law enforcement.

Cleveland Police Assistant Chief Constable David Felton addressed the situation, stating, “This is very much a live investigation, and we are continuing to work to identify those involved in the disorder yesterday evening and bring them to justice. Disorder of this kind will not be tolerated, and those Kent Police bolster patrols and say any gatherings found to be illegal will be dealt with robustly" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-wpil-monitor-id="45117">found to be involved will be robustly dealt with.”
