A Clayton County police officer was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital on Tuesday night (February 25, 2025) after being shot, according to the police department.
Authorities have not yet released details on the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including the location of the incident or what led up to it. The officer’s condition remains undisclosed at this time.
Heavy Law Enforcement Presence
A large contingent of law enforcement agencies responded to the scene and later escorted the ambulance carrying the injured officer to the hospital. Footage has been captured showing Jonesboro Police, Clayton County Sheriff’s deputies, Clayton County Police, Lake City Police, and Atlanta Police accompanying the emergency vehicle in a show of solidarity.
Investigation Underway
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has been called in to investigate the shooting. It remains unclear whether any suspects have been detained or if there is an ongoing manhunt.
