Coastguard called to Two Young People in difficulty on Ventnor Seafront

A Coastguard search and rescue team from Ventnor have been mobilised to the Ventnor seafront this evening after two teenage ran into difficulties on the seafront. The CRT team were mobilised just after 6.35pm on Sunday 19th August 2018 after a call was made to the UK coastguard operations centre advising of two young people were  trapped in the water. A Bystander who asked not to be named said: There was a couple of kids swimming in the sea when I was down there just now. It was quite rough. Despite the rough seas, a member of the public rushed into the water to assist the duo and was able to pull them to safety. Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team were quickly on scene and requested the assistance of the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
