Shahime Finch (26) and Muhammad Munir (26), both from Reading, have been locked up for a total of 19 years after a chilling crime spree across Milton Keynes and Northampton.

11 Years for Munir, 8 Years for Finch

The duo forced their way into two separate Airbnbs in January 2025. They threatened young women staying there with a screwdriver and a knife, stole cash, and left their victims traumatised.

At Reading Crown Court on 18th November, Munir was sentenced to 11 years after being found guilty of intentional strangulation, multiple robberies, and four counts of sexual assault. Finch was sentenced to eight years for three counts of robbery.

Horrific Attacks on Women

  • On 18 January, Finch and Munir broke into an Airbnb in Milton Keynes, threatening two women in their twenties. Munir dragged one victim by her hair into a bedroom, threatened her with a knife, and stole £160.
  • The pair then hit another Airbnb in Northampton the same night. Munir strangled a woman in her thirties, pulling her down the stairs by her hair and demanding money.
  • Both women were taken to a bedroom, where Munir sexually assaulted them while Finch ransacked the property.
  • Victims escaped and raised the alarm, reporting the theft of around £1,500 and two iPhones.

Swift Police Action Leads to Arrest

Thames Valley Police launched an immediate investigation. Munir was arrested twice before being charged on 13 February. Finch was caught and charged on 8 February.

“These attacks were terrifying and left lasting trauma. We welcome the sentences handed down today, delivering justice for the victims.” – Thames Valley Police spokesperson
