British Airways Grounds All Flights to Dubai and UAE Until Summer

British Airways has pulled the plug on all flights to Dubai and the wider UAE, with no services flying again until June at the earliest. The move comes amid soaring safety fears due to the Iran-Israel conflict heating up in the region.

Travellers to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and other UAE hotspots are now stuck on the ground. BA confirms flights to Dubai won’t resume before June, while trips to Abu Dhabi are suspended all the way until October.

BA Scraps Flights Across Middle East Amid Rising Danger

The airline’s travel ban isn’t limited to the UAE. British Airways has axed routes to other Middle Eastern hotspots too, including Israel, Jordan, and Qatar.

  • Flights to Doha cancelled until the end of April.
  • Abu Dhabi trips on hold until October.
  • Services to Bahrain, Tel Aviv, and Amman suspended until after May 31.

BA is clearly putting safety first as unrest in the region worsens.

Drone Attacks Bring Chaos to Dubai Airport

Dubai International Airport, the busiest in the Middle East, has been rocked by recent drone attacks. One strike caused a petrol tank fire, grinding flights to a halt overnight.

Normally, these airports handle over half a million passengers daily, connecting Europe, Asia, and Australia. The disruption threatens vital global travel links.

Middle East Conflict Brings Air Travel to a Dead Stop

The crisis exploded after a missile strike injured four at Dubai Airport. More drone attacks last week added to the mayhem, causing injuries near the airport.

Dubai International is the world’s busiest for international travellers, serving 95 million passengers last year with figures expected to top 100 million this year.

With tensions sky-high, British Airways’ suspension shows just how risky flying in the Middle East has become.
