A Devizes drug dealer has been jailed after police discovered nitrous oxide canisters dumped outside a property on Bath Road. Wiltshire Police launched an investigation on 18 September following reports of suspicious activity.

Officers searched the address and arrested 20-year-old Michael Hampton on drug supply charges. The raid uncovered three mobile phones, around 15 grams of cocaine, 12.74 grams of cannabis, and over £4,000 in cash.

Hampton Admits to Drug Supply

Hampton pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, possession of Class B drugs, and possession of criminal property. At Salisbury Crown Court on 1 December, he was sentenced to two years and three months behind bars.

Police Warn: No Place for Drugs in Wiltshire

“This sentence holds Hampton to account for his actions,” said Inspector Simon Garrett. “Drug dealing devastates local communities, fueling crime, litter, and anti-social behaviour.”

“Criminals exploit vulnerable young people to push their drugs, and Hampton was no different,” Garrett added. “Our message is loud and clear: there is no place for drugs in Devizes or Wiltshire.”
