Drug Dealer Nabbed After Nitrous Oxide Canisters Dumped in Devizes
A local drug dealer in Devizes has been locked up after police found discarded nitrous oxide canisters outside a Bath Road property. Wiltshire Police were tipped off about suspicious activity on 18 September, kicking off a swift investigation.
The raid led to the arrest of 20-year-old Michael Hampton. Officers uncovered a stash including three mobile phones, 15 grams of cocaine, nearly 13 grams of cannabis, and over £4,000 in cash.
Hampton Caught Red-Handed and Sentenced
Hampton didn’t fight the charges. He pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, possession of Class B drugs, and handling criminal property. On 1 December, Salisbury Crown Court sentenced him to two years and three months in prison.
Police Crackdown: No Tolerance for Drugs in Wiltshire
“This sentence holds Hampton to account for his actions,” said Inspector Simon Garrett. “Drug dealing devastates local communities, fueling crime, litter, and anti-social behaviour.”
“Criminals exploit vulnerable young people to push their drugs, and Hampton was no different,” Garrett added. “Our message is loud and clear: there is no place for drugs in Devizes or Wiltshire.”
