A 20-year-old man from Devizes has been locked up for two years and three months after pleading guilty to serious drug offences.

Michael Hampton Caught Red-Handed

Michael Hampton, of Bath Road, appeared at Salisbury Crown Court on December 1. He admitted possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, possession of Class B drugs, and holding criminal property.

Wiltshire Police launched a probe on September 18 after spotting discarded nitrous oxide canisters outside Hampton’s home. Intelligence pointed to drug dealing at the property.

A search uncovered three mobile phones, 15g of cocaine, 12.74g of cannabis, and more than £4,000 in cash.

Police Slam Drug Dealing Impact on Community

Inspector Simon Garrett said: “This sentence holds Hampton to account for his actions. Drug dealing has a big impact on local communities, leading to increased crime, litter, and anti-social behaviour.

We also know that children and young people are exploited by criminals running supply lines, and Hampton was no different, seeking out vulnerable people to line his pockets.

Our message is clear: there is no place for drugs in Devizes or Wiltshire.”
