Devizes Drug Dealer Locked Up for Over Two Years
A 20-year-old man from Devizes has been jailed for two years and three months after pleading guilty to serious drug offences.
Michael Hampton Nabbed with Drugs and Cash
Michael Hampton, of Bath Road, appeared at Salisbury Crown Court on December 1. He admitted possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, possession of Class B drugs, and handling criminal property.
Wiltshire Police launched their investigation on September 18 after spotting discarded nitrous oxide canisters outside Hampton’s home. Intelligence suggested Hampton was running a drug-dealing operation from the property.
During a search, officers found three mobile phones, 15 grams of cocaine, 12.74 grams of cannabis, and more than £4,000 in cash.
Police Warn: Drug Dealing Ruins Communities
Inspector Simon Garrett said: “This sentence holds Hampton to account for his actions. Drug dealing hits local communities hard, fuelling crime, litter, and anti-social behaviour.
“We also know criminals prey on children and young people to run their supply lines. Hampton was no different, targeting vulnerable people to fill his pockets.
Our message is clear: there’s no place for drugs in Devizes or Wiltshire.”
